Ocular Surface Disease
Dry-eye, also known as Ocular Surface Disease, has been on the rise over the last decade largely in part due to the non-stop use of electronic devices. Additionally increased research into dry-eye has expanded our knowledge in the detection and treatment of the disease. The goal of our dry-eye consultation is to pinpoint the cause of your irritation and then educate you on how best to treat and manage your disease based on your individual symptoms. For the majority of patients, their dry and irritated eyes come from Evaporative Dry-Eye which is caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. Other things such as the medications you take, age, and your environment can impact your ocular surface. Foreign body sensation, itchiness, redness, watery eyes, discomfort with contact lens wear and burning or stinging are all common symptoms of dry-eye.
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms and have not found a solution, schedule an appointment for an Ocular Surface Disease Consult and we can work together to help improve the health of your eyes.
We accept most major medical insurances, if you have questions about eligibility please call and speak with our friendly staff.
